Wawel Hill – a hill on the left bank of the Vistula River in Krakow, rising to an altitude of about 228 m above sea level. On the hill there are two historic buildings: the Royal Castle on Wawel (whose origins date back to the 11th century) and the Archcathedral Basilica of St. Stanislaus and St. Wenceslas. Part of the fortifications and the statue of the Wawel Dragon were also included. Since 1978, the Wawel Castle has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
